The Pentagon combines advanced five-stage filtration with magnetic water conditioning to deliver comprehensive whole-house water treatment in a single, space-efficient system. Complete Filtration Plus Conditioning

The Pentagon water filtration and conditioning system takes a fundamentally different approach to whole-house water treatment. Rather than choosing between filtration or conditioning, this innovative system does both—delivering five stages of treatment that address taste, odor, sediment, and scale in a single tank. It's the ideal solution for customers who want comprehensive water quality improvement without the complexity and footprint of multiple separate systems.

Five Stages, One System

Stage 1: Granular Activated Carbon High-capacity coconut shell carbon effectively removes chlorine, volatile organic compounds, and taste and odor-causing contaminants. This first line of defense eliminates the chemical tastes common in municipal water while protecting the downstream media from oxidative damage.

Stage 2: Centaur® Catalytic Carbon This premium catalytic carbon targets the contaminants standard carbon can't handle—specifically chloramines and hydrogen sulfide. Increasingly used by municipalities as a more stable disinfectant than chlorine, chloramines require specialized media for effective removal. Centaur delivers that capability while also addressing sulfur odors common in well water applications.

Stage 3: FilterAgPlus® This advanced filtration media provides exceptional reduction of suspended solids, turbidity, and fine particulates that affect water clarity and appliance performance. The high surface area and controlled porosity ensure effective filtration without excessive pressure drop.

Stage 4: Garnet Filter Media As the foundation layer, high-density garnet provides both final-stage filtration and essential support for the upper media layers. This natural mineral media prevents channeling while ensuring complete contact between water and the treatment media above.

Stage 5: Multi-Field Magnetic Water Conditioner Integrated into the system's distributor, this magnetic conditioning technology alters the ionic charge of hardness minerals, preventing them from forming scale deposits on pipes, fixtures, and appliances. Unlike traditional softening, the minerals remain in the water—no sodium addition, no salt purchases, no regeneration cycles.

Conditioning That Goes Beyond Filtration

What makes Pentagon unique is the integrated magnetic water conditioner. This technology doesn't just prevent scale in your customers' homes—it actually improves the performance of the filtration system itself. Magnetically conditioned water provides more effective backwashing of the filter media, keeping the bed loose and preventing the compaction that reduces efficiency over time. When used upstream of a water softener, conditioned water helps resin beds remain fluffy and efficient, extending resin life, reducing salt consumption, and conserving water.

The magnetically conditioned water maintains its reduced scaling potential for approximately 36 hours—more than enough for typical household use. This means spotless dishes and glassware, reduced staining on fixtures, better soap and shampoo performance, and protection for water heaters, dishwashers, and other appliances that hard water typically damages.

Professional Control, Proven Reliability

The Pentagon uses Clack's solid-state microprocessor control valve, providing the same professional-grade automation found in much more expensive systems. The intuitive front panel displays time of day, days until next backwash, volume remaining, current flow rate, and total volume used. Four programmable backwash initiation methods—meter immediate, meter delayed, time clock delayed, or pressure differential—allow precise configuration for any application.

Available in four configurations (8, 11, 13, and 16 GPM), Pentagon accommodates a wide range of residential applications from small homes to larger properties with higher demand. The automated backwash cycle maintains media effectiveness without any customer intervention, while the optional double backwash feature ensures optimal cleaning and efficiency. With coin cell lithium battery backup, the system maintains programming even during power outages.

Magnetic Water Conditioner:

The Magnetic Conditioner in the distributor of a media type filter not only treats the domestic water supply for scale control, but also provides a much more throughput and effective backwashing of filter media. Conditioned water is compatible with GreenSand, Birm, GAC, KDF, and even ion exchange resins and will provide much better results than just filtering or softening alone. When backwashing a softener with conditioned water, the resin bed will remain loose and not pack over many years of use, which will obviously extend product life, increase efficiency, reduce salt consumption and conserve water.
